Well, it has been an exciting fall with my new book, Haunted Charlottesville and Surrounding Counties. I am totally booked for October, which is great because all the ghosts and goblins celebrate during the month. Hope to see you at one or more of my events. Check my website Event page for more details.

My 7th book has arrived on Amazon entitled Handbook for the Dead, published by the Frightening Floyds, who also published Paranormal Encounters. This book is full of real-life stories of hauntings and things that go on after people die. It is going to be an awesome read!

I hope everyone on my side of the world is enjoying the cooler temperatures that are coming this week. It has been a hot summer, and I am glad we are headed into fall. The leaves are starting to change and the air has a crispness to it. Halloween is coming so get your best costume ready.

Until next time,

Susan

Hey there and hello:

It has been an exciting month for me between scheduling signings for the new book, Haunted Charlottesville, and setting up radio interviews. It seems like a whirlwind of activity, and I seem to be caught in the middle of it. Who knew it was so crazy? Haha! A good crazy, I am having the time of my life, and I am so excited that everyone seems to be enjoying the book that has read it so far.

We have two great reviews on Amazon. If you have read it, please leave a review - good or bad- and tell me why you liked it or not. Your suggestions will only help me with future publications. Thanks for taking a chance on me. It means more to me than you will ever know.

I hope everyone is enjoying their summer here in the States. It has been a hot one, so stay cool out there. I am hard at work on my next book, also based in Virginia. I have another one in the planning stages, and I hope to get to work on that soon as well.

Until next time, much love,

Susan

Check out the sites to get your copy of spooky history dealing with Presidential Homes, Civil War sites, and cemeteries all over central Virginia.

Check my facebook page as well as my webpage for future events and book signings. We are trying to get a bunch together now. I will keep you posted on the happenings.

Please join me in the celebration. It took my brother and I 1.5 years to get the book written and another 1.5 years to get it published.

Moral: Do NOT give up, you will get there with patience and resolve. If I can do it, I know you can. Get back to writing now!

Much love, Susan

Well, hello there!

I have some exciting news! My Haunted Charlottesville book has finally been published. They sent me my first copy on Sat, May 11. It was so much fun to see it in print for the first time. Schiffer even sent me a bottle of wine to help celebrate the occasion.

I took a year and a half to research, write, and compile this book. Then it took another two years to get it published. Patience has been the name of the game. It is so nice to finally see all of my hard work come to fruition.

To preorder a copy: https://www.schifferbooks.com/haunted-charlottesville-and-surrounding-counties-6667.html

or check the book section on my website. You will find the book listed there, click on the picture and it will take you to the site as well.

Let that help you in your writing as well. Keep on going and keep on trying. Slow and steady will win the race.

Hey there and hello,

I am fresh off a great lecture from Brad Parks himself. He came to visit our writing group yesterday to tell us about his writing journey and give us some publishing tips. He was not only entertaining, but he also gave us great ideas on how to move forward with our own writing journey. Several members remarked after he finished that they wanted to hurry home just so they could start writing. It was a truly inspiring talk.

Many times, we writers get down in the dumps because we are stuck or get too many rejections. Brad told us about 3, yes 3, manuscripts he had to just trash. I know it wasn't good for him, but it helped me to know that we are not alone in our struggle, and it is normal to have some down time.

In the end, when you hold the book in your hands, it IS all worth it. I remember the day I got the copy of my first published short story in Nightmares & Echoes I. I was on Cloud 9. I remember driving all the way to Richmond just so I could show it to my son, Timothy. He was quite excited for me. You must celebrate the wins so the losses don't overcome the road you want to travel down. Hence, you may be tempted to make a U-Turn and might never know the riches you may have found.

Keep moving forward always!

Until next time,

Susan

Happy New Year!

I hope it is a wonderful and fulfilling year for everyone. I am excited that my Haunted Charlottesville book is coming out in May of this year. It took me some time and effort to write and gather all the information and facts, but it was well worth it.

Once you see the finished book, I hope you will think so too. It was a fun project, and I enjoyed traveling around to the different locations.

Also in the works, two novels and some short stories this year. I am working on some at present and will keep you posted on their availability.  Hopefully, it won't be a long wait.
