 Hey there and BOO!

It is that time of year when we are getting ready to enjoy the crisp fall weather and jack-o-lanterns decorating people's porches along with some other scary props and decorations. My favorite is always the graveyard look - tombstones, ghosts, and body parts coming out of the ground. This is my absolute favorite holiday.

I spend way too much on decorations especially when you can go to Michael's or Joann's and get them at a discount this time of year. So much fun!

I think Halloween brings out the child in all of us with memories of trick-or-treating and playing pranks. It is also the time when the veil between this world and the next is also the thinnest. Watch for messages that may come through when you are not expecting them! I believe the Day of the Dead is on November 1 & 2 this year.

I have been swamped with signings as well through December. I am so happy about the success of the new book, Haunted Inns and Hotels of Virginia. It has been fun to tell people about my travels and experiences in each locations. I also love to hear about anything they have witnessed. As a result, I have many new places to check out for future books. I always love hearing from my readers as they know of locations I had not thought about yet. I am grateful for such well-traveled readers.

Have a wonderful and warm Halloween, watch out for goblins!

 Hey there and hello,

I am getting quite excited as the day is drawing near when my new book releases - Aug 21, 2023. I did a lot of research, travel, and photography with this one. I just got my copies the other day, such a charming book and cover. I do hope you will check it out and visit the places mentioned inside the book. I even added some ghost tours that are all over Virginia that may add some more flavor to your travel. I also included some off the wall spots near some of the locations just so you can check out something weird along the way.

It has been a great ride and I hope to see some of you at one of my signings.

Take care and stay cool!

Til next time, Susan

 Hey there and hello!

I am growing more excited as August gets closer. My new book, Haunted Inns & Hotels in Virginia, will be released on Aug 21, 2023 by Haunted America/The History Press. I traveled much of Virginia to bring you some fascinating stories and spooky hauntings. I hope you will check the book out when you can. If you know of other places, please let me know. I am always up for a ghost hunt.

Make sure you check out my other book, Haunted Charlottesville and Surrounding Counties, published by Schiffer. It contains around 75+ locations over 13 counties from Goochland to Madison. I had a lot of fun with both these books - visiting and researching.

Summer is in full swing and it is getting hot out there. Make sure to hydrate and keep cool. I have a cute little kiddie pool for my gazebo, so some days I can go out and stick my feet in and it is a welcome break. Hope you guys are enjoying your summer and taking advantage of the beautiful days to go walking or just hang out with friends.

Our garden is growing like a weed as well. We have all kinds of veggies and flowers. I shouldn't really say we as my hubby, Michael, has done most of the work. I am in the background supervising as always - LOL! We have been amazed as the growth of some of them once we transferred them to their own hydroponic station. The difference is really noticeable. Our cherry tomatoes are out of control and have grown almost to the roof of the greenhouse. It is really amazing.

We have been pulling lettuce and basil like crazy, and I have even had a few cucamelons and some blackberries. Our peach tree gave us two pieces of fruit so that was a welcome surprise as well.

Take care until next time, Susan

 Hey there and hello:

I hope everyone is staying warm or cool, depending on what region you are living in at present. It has been cool here in Virginia, although we have had some very hot and cold days, so who knows? Not much snow this year, so that is good. It is pretty, but I hate to drive in it.

I am gearing up for the book release in August. I have been checking edits and photos. Just got a few more edits, and we will be ready to print. It is always nice to see your hard work finally come to fruition.

I cannot wait to share this book with you. It has some really interesting lore, history, and hauntings in it. I hope you will enjoy it, and even maybe go stay for a night in a couple of the locations.

Mother's Day is also coming. Make sure to give Mom a hug and take her out to dinner.

Til next time, Susan

 Hey there and hello!

I just received the most awesome news this week that my Haunted Inns & Hotels in Virginia book will be released on August 21, 2023. I am so excited as I have been trying to get this book out for a while. It covers the state of Virginia from Virginia Beach to Bristol. A whole lot of research, photography, and travel went into this book. I am so happy it will be finding its way into reader's hands real soon.

As always, check my event page on my website to find out where you can come see me and tell me about your haunted experiences. I always love to hear about other's stories and how they reacted. I have even been given several great leads by a couple of readers. I love to interact with my readers; I always learn something new or get to hear an interesting tale of ghosts and goblins.

Hope everyone is gearing up for spring here in the gorgeous state of Virginia. We have gone from hot to cold and back again several times. Mother Nature seems to not be able to make up her mind. Spring is coming soon I hope, and with that, some spring weather and less pollen, I hope.

Well, that is all for now, take care until next time, Susan

 Hey there and hello,

Here it is Feb 6, the groundhog saw his shadow and we get six more weeks of winter. I am not fond of that groundhog. I do feel sorry for him though - being pulled out of his warm home into the cold. I would wish bad things on people too, LOL! We had a little light snow this past weekend. It was enough to be pretty, but no real accumulation. I love snow, but I really hate driving in it.

I am gearing up for the summer and fall when my next book will be released - Haunted Hotels in Virginia. I am also working on a couple of other projects - Short stories, two novels, and some other things. I hope to have a couple done or nearly finished by the end of the year.

Hope you are well and staying warm if you live in the US. That artic air is nothing to laugh about right now,,,,,,chilly willy! BRRRRRR!

Talk to you next time, Susan
