WOW! Here it is December 31, and we are at the end of 2020. This year has been filled with weirdness as well as some pretty incredible happenings. We had a deadly virus attack the world in March and a life-saving vaccine produced at the end of the year. That was our Christmas miracle, and I am glad it is already being distributed to healthcare workers so they can go to work knowing they are safe and protected.

After my first COVID vaccine, I swear I was smiling!

I think this has been a scary year for most people who don't know how to handle the stress of staying home for so long and not being able to get out and work or see family and friends. It really takes a lot not to have those holiday get-togethers. I did notice there was a spike in COVID cases near every holiday. As we go forward, we can keep the research and see what it tells us.

On another note, I do have a new book coming out in 2021 entitled Sleeping with Spirits. It is filled with the history and hauntings of hotels, B&Bs, and Inns in Virginia. I hope you will enjoy it, but stay tuned for when it is released. I may be doing a giveaway in celebration. I am waiting to see when the book may be available first.

It is my wish that everyone have a healthy and safe 2021.

See you next year!

WOW! Here it is November of 2020, we have been through so much this year, including COVID, a new President, and I just found out today that Alex Trebek died. It has been tough on all of us during these difficult times, and you must remember to always find your silver linings.

Hopefully, friends and family, who were divided, can come back together and rejoice. Kids are starting back to school, both virtually and in-person. COVID has changed the way we live in the present day, and I don't think we will be seeing it leave us anytime soon. I wonder, if in the future, if we will ever feel comfortable going without a mask. It is a scary world we are moving toward in the coming days.

I am working on a paranormal romance at present and a few other short stories. There have not been many writing events this year, and I have been trying to keep busy with contests, anthologies, and other little writing stuff. I have kept my imagination on overdrive in the process. LOL!

As Thanksgiving is just around the corner, I hope everyone is grateful for something in their lives. I wish for your turkey to be cooked just right and the stuffing is the best you have ever had.

Here's looking forward to 2021 in less than 2 months. Take care until next time.

Well, here we are in September of 2020. It has been a long arduous road to get here, especially dealing with COVID. I know many people have gotten sick, and it continues to be quite a scary illness. I hope we can get a better handle on the virus as we head into the New Year.

In July, I sent my new hotel book to the publisher. I am hoping it will be out in the near future. I will keep you posted on dates as I get them.

Everything has gone virtual this year. I hope everyone is getting the hang of that. I am still trying to learn how to work ZOOM. I am just learning so it will take some time I am sure. I hope you can attend favorite seminars or classes while we are trying to keep everyone safe.

My stories: I am working on several now so we will have to see where they go. I am quite excited to be working on my paranormal romance again and after that, a medical thriller.

I hope you are well and keeping safe in your day-to-day travels and outings.

Talk to next time, Susan

Hey there,

It is May the 4th, and we are still on lock down from COVID 19. It has been a rough couple of months just sitting at home. I am still recovering from a 5 level fusion in my neck so it has been a healing time for me. Seeing animals come back into the world is a great thing too. I always wondered if this was the big rest we have needed for a while.

I hope everyone out there is staying safe. Wear your masks and don't go out unless you need to do so. It is scary right now as we don't know what will happen in the future, but take it one day at a time and we will get there.

During my down time, I finished another book on Haunted Hotels. I don't have a publication date yet, but I will post it when I get it. I am very excited to finish another one. WOW! I am already looking at ideas for my next one. I don't think it will be a haunted one this time, maybe a historical one. We shall see. I also want to get back to work on my paranormal romance and medical thriller. So I have plenty to keep me busy right now.

Take good care until next time,    Susan

Hey there and hello:

How about those healthcare workers? I am in awe of all of my friends and coworkers I have known through the many years I have been a nurse. They are really guarding the front line for great patient care. I am on the sidelines at present because of a major surgery, but I am still rooting them on from my seat up in the bleachers.

We need to ensure they have the proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) to complete their jobs with as well. The shortage of masks and respirators is just too scary to even imagine. I hope we get this worked out as time goes on with this illness.

It is very scary out there today. I can't imagine what life will be like once it is settled. Will we go back to the way things were or will we realize there are new ways of completing tasks that we never thought of in the past. Just this morning, I had a telehealth doctor visit over the phone. I liked that a lot because I didn't have to travel an hour to get to his office. School's out, we can do online learning, the kids don't have to miss all their lessons.

I am astounded at the way we have come together even though we have to be apart - 6 feet anyway. It is amazing that we can disagree on so many things, but when we need to pull together as a nation, everyone always comes through.

Even the birds are getting in on the action, becoming louder each day and more happy like they are celebrating the lack of humans polluting their world with noise and trash. Sounds like an awesome world to return to if we can keep it like that.

Maybe we just needed a good reboot.

Please take good care out there until next time, Susan

Hey there,

It is a brand new year, and I am excited to see what it will bring for all of us. I am working on several things at the moment - a ghost book and 3-4 short stories for anthologies. So it should be interesting to see what comes out this year for me.

I have not posted in a while as I had major surgery in December and am healing from that. Hopefully, by April, I will be back and causing much mischief again. Until then, be safe and take care out there.

No snow here yet in Virginia. We have had some really nice warm days lately; I wonder what that means for springtime. Hopefully, spring will come soon with some nice weather to follow.

Writing has been cumbersome at the present time because of my neck issues. I am slowly back in front of the computer for around 30 minutes at a time. I have some ideas for stories, but I also have other pieces to complete first. So we shall see how it goes.

Slowly but surely has become my mantra. I will get there, just have to be patient, but it sure is hard.
