April Showers coming soon along with the Easter Bunny

Well, March came in like a lion with plenty of that cold white stuff we call snow. It has certainly lightened up a lot since the beginning of the month. As it neared the end of March, it started to turn into nice spring weather. Michael and I were excited as our birthdays were at the end of March, and we were headed to Maryland to the casino for some fun and shopping. We even saw a few snow flurries up there.

April came in very gently. It has been warming up gradually and has been beautiful the last couple of days. I have enjoyed the change in weather and hope it stays like this.

I am currently working on a piece for Sleepy Hollow. I have redone another idea I had and rerouted it into this one. I think it is going to work nicely. It will be full of horror galore and lots of ghosts and goblins. So we should be good. I am fascinated with the place up in New York that the story is based on, so I will have to go and visit the place one day. It is supposedly where the Headless Horseman from Irving's story rode across a bridge and lost his head.

Valentine's Day Thoughts

Wow, tomorrow is Valentine's Day. Today is Friday the 13th. I hadn't even thought of that until I just typed it. It is a strange day, but I never seem to have any bad luck, at least not yet. Knock on wood! I am looking to still work on several projects and get those finished as well as start another teaching job. I will be quite busy come March.

The Festival of the Book is coming in March, and I cam looking forward to that. It usually comes around our birthday, so I will head up to Charlottesville and see the show then. Daddy used to love to ride up there with me and walk the downtown mall afterwards. I will miss not being able to take him on this trip. He went with me last year though, who knew it would be his last one? He had fun though collecting freebies and meeting some authors. Then we walked some of the downtown mall and stopped for some lunch at a pizza place. It was a really good day, not too hot and not too cold. I think we even got to see a glimpse of Alan Alda walking to his limo because he was there to support Mike Farrell who was giving a talk. Daddy was quite impressed.

Hopefully, this year will be as good, full report later on. Off to work on my many projects.

Book Of Days Play

This play by Lanford Wilson has really brought together a great cast and a great group of people. There must be at least five different story lines involved in the show that all come together at the end and meld into one great big one. There is a Joan of Arc line, a cheese line, a murder line, an affair line, a promiscuous teacher line, and problems with a play director and the reverend of the church. Everybody in this town has issues.

I have seen the show about five times now, and it keeps getting better each time. I keep catching things I missed the last show. It does pay to see a show mire than once I say. I am fascinated at the cast and how different some of them are from there characters. You see someone as a character and I guess you automatically think that is how they are in life. I am fascinated that some are 180 degrees the other direction and nothing like their characters.

My son is a great example. His character is devilish and mean at times. He is just a gentle-natured fellow. So it is interesting to see him portray evil and mean characters because I know he is not like that in real life. He also employs a mean southern accent for this show.

It has been a great show and learning experience each night for me. I hope to see it a couple of more times and see something new each time. Hopefully by the end of the show, I will have figured out all the plot lines and who really killed who!

Ghost Book

I have been researching different locals around Goochland and Charlottesville to see what haunted places there may be available to visit. I have found a plethora of interesting sites and want to check them out. I will see how it goes. It will take me a while, but I am really interested in seeing what I can get. I think if nothing else, I will get to see some interesting sites and visit some neat hotels and bed and breakfasts. They also get free publicity. What could be better?

I have found interesting stories for most of the places so will capitalize on them and interview people as I go to see if I can dig up anything else. I think this is going to be a neat weekend project and picture taking forage to see many sights up and down the 64 corridor here in western Virginia.

Publishing my stories

Well, it was exciting to get one of my stories published in October 2014 in a horror anthology. It gave me the needed kick I needed to work on finishing a couple other projects I had been wanting to finalize. They were a nursing manual, a paranormal romance, and a medical thriller. I just placed the finishing touches on my nursing manual, and I am now awaiting the publisher to get back to me so we shall see how it goes.

Another friend has given me an idea for a ghost book which I am researching to see if I could actually follow through and get some good fodder on for a decent book. It looks like some great stuff so far. We shall see, I see lots of great stories so far. I am just in the preliminary stages right now though.

My paranormal romance is up to 7500 words so I am getting a good start. I worked on it during NANOWRIMO some more. Now that I have finished the Nursing Manual, I have more time to commit to working on this one. After this one is done, I will finish the medical thriller. Then I guess I will start all over again.

It kind of goes full circle. You start, you research, you finish, you start again. I have all these wild ideas for stories in my head. Let's see how many come to fruition.
